Dallas sits a short run northeast of Cherryville on NC-275 and NC-279, on some of the most even ground in Gaston County. There is no river edge and no mountain here — it is gently rolling red clay, which makes it among the most straightforward dirt in our whole service area to work. Long Creek drains the area to the east.
Even ground and short haul distance are worth real money on a job. A pad here usually does not need the cut-and-bench work a Burke County hillside demands, and a gravel drive can be built to proper crown without fighting grade. The constraint in Dallas is not terrain, it is the older streets around the courthouse square, which are tight but workable with the right machine.
